As we headed to Birmingham for the 9th round of the chapionship I had a feeling that this track would not suit our Acura TSX's very well. With the long medium speed corners that feel like they never end, I just didn't think that our big cars would do well there. I thought in the beginning that I would be proved wrong, the first session we were in the top 5. But, as the test sessions progressed, we slipped further and further down the leaderboard. By the race we were strugling to post top 15 times, which we have not done all year.

We struggled with setup changes all weekend, but in the end I was baffled. I didn't have any ideas and was a little distrought at our outlook for the race. Going into the race the team all talked and we went with some more changes to try to make the car better, but nothing seemed to work.

The race was long and hot, and we struggled with an ill handling car the whole time. It was actually a pretty uneventfull race, with the exception of the last 3 or 4 laps where I had a bit of a battle for a couple of postions, but with the lack of yellows I spend most of my stint driving around by myself with no one in sight. In the end I was able to manage a top 10 result, but it was just not a good showing for us. It was a little dissapointing to have so many friends and family out, for the closest race to home, and have such a poor showing. It was nice to have some people rooting us on, but I would have liked to be a contender for the win like we have been at every other track we have visited this year.

Since I am not in the running for a championship I cannot be happy with just a decent result, I am really looking for a win. Coming into this year I really felt that I would walk away from this season with at least a couple of wins, and now I still believe that it is possible to pull of one or even two with a little change of luck. I think the car is going to be very good at the next few tracks, as long as our brakes can hold up in Trois-Rivieres.
