Here we are the morning of the race and once again we are looking like we are in good shape for the race. The car has been surprisingly good all weekend. We really haven't had to make any major changes to the setup, only some tweaks here and there. I have been trying to familiarize myself with the nuances of this track (I don't have alot of time here) and Taz has been trying to figure out the track and the car. In practice we really didn't feel like either of us ever got the car to show all it's ability, there is definitely more there. And in qualifying Taz was not happy with his performance, but I think he did a fine job. He had one little mistake in the corkscrew that slowed his fast lap down, but he is starting 7th which is not bad. I think the car will be fast for the race, and we'll have a shot at a win.
The plan for the race is for Taz to just try and keep the car clean and in one piece. Hopefully he will hand the car over to me in a good position and I can bring it home for a decent result. I am a little under the weather, I had some kind of stomach bug or something hit me last night, and I've been battling sinus issues all week too. I think I'll be fine in the car, the only thing I'm really concerned with is our pit stop. When Taz gets out and I have to get in, we have to do a major adjustment with the seat and belts. That is going to take a while, but hopefully won't slow us down at all.
Now all we can do is wait and see how the race plays out. Hopefully luck will be on our side this time. I’m looking forward to going home happy for a change.
